Kylie Aoibheann is a trans Australian writer, director and editor based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her short supernatural horror THE DYSPHORIA won awards at Fantastic Fest (Short Fuse Winner), Brooklyn Horror Film Festival (Best Director) and Melbourne Queer Film Festival (City of Melbourne Award for Best Australian Short Film) – and was nominated for an AWGIE Award. Produced with the support of Queer Screen and Screen Australia, THE DYSPHORIA went on to screen at countless other festivals worldwide - including Melbourne International Film Festival, Fantasia, Palm Springs International ShortFest, Tampere Film Festival, BFI Flare, Odense International Film Festival, Beyond Fest and Overlook Film Festival. Kylie’s other short films include the psychological horror SEE FOR YOURSELF, streaming in Australia on national broadcaster ABC iView, and upcoming body horror WHAT’S BETWEEN YOUR LEGS, shortlisted for an Emerging Writers’ Award by the Australian Writers’ Guild.
